I have a bad habit of usually thinking the worst when having to deal with a new doctor (I'm something of a cowardly patient anyway, I admit). Today was my first visit to Dr. Allgood and I did not present him with easy issues - I have been negligent for a couple of years with my dental issues, but a recent visit by the demons of a broken tooth forced the issue. To my dismay I learned that my old friend, Dr. Pampel, was "pulling the pin" and retiring! I was facing a root canal by a doctor I had never even met! Despite the fact that I have shirts older than he is, Dr. Allgood made me comfortable immediately with a professional and friendly demeanor and proceeded to perform the deadly deed with absolutely no pain (unbelievable but true!). We then developed a treatment plan for my remaining problems and he spent all the time I needed to make sure I understood what was needed, why, (and how much it would cost). I could not be happier with my experience so far and I look forward to a long term patient-doctor relationship. (Since I will be sending his child through college, I am glad it has worked out for all concerned).
